New Service: Virtual Tākuta (GP) Appointments
Date: 14 Oct 2025
Starting Wednesday 22nd October, this service will run every Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 12pm, and will be available at Tauranga Moana City GP Clinic only, until further notice.
You’ll still come into the clinic and be seen by the tākuta (doctor) via video. One of our caring kaimahi will be by your side during the consult.
This service isn’t about replacing face-to-face care — it’s about reducing wait times and helping you and your whānau be seen sooner.

What’s the purpose of this service?
This new service is designed to help you and your whānau get seen sooner and reduce wait times. We know timely access to care is important — this is one of the ways we’re making it easier for you and your whānau to access the care you need and deserve.
Virtual consults will be held at Tauranga Moana City GP Clinic only.
They run every Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 12pm, starting Wednesday 22nd October until further notice.
You’ll come into the clinic for your appointment, where one of our kaimahi will support you throughout the online consult with the tākuta (doctor).
You can book an appointment the usual way — just give us a call on 0800 114 900.
Our kaimahi will discuss the option of a virtual appointment with you if it's suitable. If you prefer to be seen face to face, please let us know — but there may be a longer wait time for a face-to-face appointment with your own tākuta (doctor).
For this service, you’ll still need to come into the clinic. A kaimahi will be there to tautoko you during the consult and set up the video call, so you don’t need to worry about using your own device or connection.
